Homeopathy offers natural and safe remedies: prepare with a homeopathic kit for common summer ailments. Homeopathic remedies can be found at your nearest health food store. Most stores will carry 6c, 12c and 30c potencies. You can repeat these potencies from every 15 minutes to every few hours depending on severity of symptoms. Do not handle pellets with your hands, use the cap to drop in to the mouth and avoid any foods or drinks 30 minutes before and after taking the remedy.

Preventing sunburns is a must using sunscreens, hats etc. In case you were out longer than expected or missed a spot, try Calendula spray to the affected area. In addition, when experiencing pain accompanied by burning, the homeopathic remedy Can-tharis can be taken internally to soothe the pain and promote healing. When hiking and camping there is the possibility of coming in contact with Poison Ivy and Poison Oak. Depending on your sensitivity, you can end up with a very itchy rash. Try the homeopathic remedy Anacardium and, if no reduction in itching or swelling, switch to Rhus Tox. These remedies are taken internally.

Bugs are a big part of being outdoors. Avoid synthetic insect repellants full of harmful chemicals.  You can use essential oils such as neem or citronella.  Bee stings and insect bites can be very painful.  Try the homeopathic remedy Apis Mellifica which can provide relief for the pain, redness and swelling. Lastly, Ledum is used for insect bites and stings when the skin is punctured and the affected area feels cold.  Any allergy to bees should be taken very seriously and given the appropriately medical attention.

For any type of accidents/trauma, including bruises, black eyes and sore muscles, the remedy Arnica Montana should be used immediately. It can be taken internally as well as externally in ointments or sprays.

Be safe and have a great summer :)
