What to Avoid:
- Strong mints, such as Altoids
- Coffee
- Beverages containing caffeine, like Coca Cola
- Aromatics, like eucalyptus, menthol (Tiger balm) and camphor, whether in creams or cosmetics (These substances may antidote the medication and render it ineffective)
- Aromatherapy oils: tea tree, lavender, eucalyptus
- Dental work, requiring anesthetics, x-rays (Although dental work is fine, I recommend that my patients have all dental work sorted out before coming to see me.)
How to Take Homeopathic Remedies:
-
The recommended dosage varies and should be followed according to the instructions for taking the product and its potency.
-
The remedies should be taken between meals and drinks and should also be taken away from tobacco or any strongly flavored food or toothpaste which taints the mouth.
-
The remedies should be tipped directly into the mouth without being handled (this may hinder the effectiveness of the remedy) and they should be allowed to dissolve in the mouth - do not swallow them whole.
